Special Announcement
After much consideration and collaboration with state UCC leaders and area colleagues, as well as reading guidelines put out by the CDC about slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, United Congregational has decided to cancel on sight worship services for an undetermined amount of time. ( See alternative worship below) We believe this is the compassionate and responsible thing for us to do. This move is not only about the safety of our church, but to our community, in order to flatten the growth curve of people who may contract the virus. As we journey through this challenging time, please remember that you are part of a faith community that cares for you. Together we will press onward, being of good courage, holding fast to that which is good, rendering to no person evil for evil, strengthening the faint-hearted, supporting the weak, helping the afflicted, honoring all people, loving and serving the Lord, and rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. Scripture - Acts 2:1-21

Reflection Questions - When the Holy Spirit swept through the diverse crowd in Jerusalem on Pentecost, they were able to understand each other’s languages. To be heard and understood validates our existence. Deep listening is one of the greatest gifts we can give to one another. This week, practice listening to the people around you, particularly the people in your household. Put aside distractions and look at their faces when they speak. Notice, not only their words but also, their body language. What would our communities be like if we all listened to each other intentionally? How could understanding each other’s unique experiences of life make the world more peaceful and safer for everyone?
