COVID-19
United Congregational is currently holding all worship services online via Zoom and Facebook Live. We believe this is the compassionate and responsible thing for us to do. This move is not only about the safety of our church, but to our community, in order to flatten the growth curve of people who may contract the virus. As we journey through this challenging time, please remember that you are part of a faith community that cares for you. Together we will press onward, being of good courage, holding fast to that which is good, rendering to no person evil for evil, strengthening the faint-hearted, supporting the weak, helping the afflicted, honoring all people, loving and serving the Lord, and rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. (And washing our hands). If you need assistance, please call the church office and leave a message. Thank you.

This week at United....

Sunday, November 29th - 9:30 am
Worship - First Sunday of Advent Sunday
"Hope"

This Sunday we will worship via Zoom at 9:30am. The service will also be streamed in the sanctuary, where you are welcome to gather with others depending on your personal safety threshold.

This Sunday we begin the four-week journey towards Christmas known as Advent. This is not only a season of preparation for what is to come, but an invitation to recognize what has already been among us.

Scripture:Isaiah 40:1-11 and Mark 1:1-15

Reflection Questions: Our world has been turned upside down in 2020 and it is not safe to observe the holiday season in the way we are accustomed. These scriptures were intended for people desperately in need of hope for their uncertain futures, and so they speak to us as well.

*In a time of deep nationwide division, what does it mean to “speak tenderly” to those who might disagree with us?

*As we navigate a wilderness of uncertainty, what unexpected angels might God be sending to care for us?

Our Core Values

01)

WE BELIEVE IN THE TRIUNE GOD

Creator, resurrected Christ, the sole Head of the church, and the Holy Spirit, who guides and brings about the creative and redemptive work of God in the world.

02)

WE BELIEVE THAT EACH PERSON IS UNIQUE AND VALUABLE

It is the will of God that every person belong to a family of faith where they have a strong sense of being valued and loved.

03)

WE BELIEVE THAT THE UCC IS CALLED TO BE A PROPHETIC CHURCH

As in the tradition of the prophets and apostles, God calls the church to speak truth to power, liberate the oppressed, care for the poor and comfort the afflicted.
